Home of the "Humdinger Eggburger". They were the best.
Unfortunately thoughts of the Humdinger are sullied by the memory of the girl that took our orders. She and her mother were sightseeing just north of Mt.St.Helens on the morning the mountain erupted in 1980. A terrible day for many. We weren't aware until we saw her picture in the newspaper shortly there after. :(

And yes, Holladay is spelled correctly.

Not a bad square as far as steps to sit on, a water fountains, and significant police presence... but if you're looking for cart food (a common venue for week-day lunchs in Portland) then there is much better to be had just blocks away.
Also, the panhandlers here get annoying - it might be OK if they just ask for money but instead there's a five minute build up of some elaborate lie.

yes it is, but because of the topography 15th does not intersect College St. The grade of the street between 14th and 16th avenues is indeed ~32%...45 meters elevation gain in only 137 meters..very tough to cycle up!

Is that informational or just a slam. While true that there is a perpetual funding crisis for schools in Oregon, MLC operates as an independent entity with smaller class sizes than standard public schools, has a very high graduation and college admission rate. MLC started in 1968 as primary education scholars began to realize that traditional pedagogy sidelined a vast number of students who suffered in the hierarchical lecture-memorization class rooms of the day. Children with intense concentration abilities, learn at a faster pace, or do otherwise do not "fit" in a traditional classroom prove that they have enormous potential waiting to be tapped in the right learning environment. Learning to learn rather than rote memorization.
